  1. Downloading every suggested apps. Hahaha

  2. One of the things that's different about having an iPad vs. a Mac as your primary computer is that the Mac is more geared to the big super-powerful monolithic applications and suites like Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Microsoft Office and so on. Whereas with the iPad there are dozens if not more apps that address more specific, or discrete needs. You have this ability to collect and curate your own "suite" of apps that address your specific workflow. Over time apps can come and go as different apps supersede your previous favorites. Your curated set is constantly evolving.

Among other thing this makes the iPad a more "modular" computing device than conventional desktop/laptop computers. Your computing environment takes on a more bespoke feel. Some people, for instance, pay a great deal of money for something like Photoshop to do a relatively few minor adjustments to photographs. With the iPad there are often small apps that address the adjustments they regularly do. "Snap" a few together and you don't need to pay for Photoshop.

  3. Iโ€™m not terribly savvy when it comes to video editing. What software enabled you to rotate the iPad screen along the y axis?

  4. Ali how are you doing? I m a fan ๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฆ™Can you make a video about the books you used for your first and second year? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

  5. Hi Dr Ali ! I am a Junior Doctor in India , plan to visit Cambridge later this month or in early feb , any suggestions on how to explore the campus . Would love to stop over to say hello , if you are around . Thank you :]

  6. your first 3 apps require a $99.00 a year subscription, I'll pass.

  7. I love notion and use it for everything but it's TERRIBLE on the iPad, doesn't support columns, slow, crashes, I don't use it on the iPad ๐Ÿ™

  8. I use OneNote, Luma Fusion and Affinity Photo the most. First video I watch from your channel, nice and professional.

  9. Love how the toilet is the only time you are free

  10. Wow Ali, you went too far today… Your over marketing of Nebula and Curiosity was so irritating that I literally have to stop the video in between.

  11. Question on the Tabs HD app, I canโ€™t seem to find it in the App Store. Is it the same as the app Ultimate Guitar Chords & Tabs? Usually things do not change quite so quickly in the App Store so I was surprised. Thanks.

  12. I think a day without ipad in your life will be a nightmare for you. No offence, Just kidding ๐Ÿ˜„

However, I have learned many things from your video about ipad stuff.

  13. Wow no excuse not to be productive. Thanks i got a lot more much needed appโ€™s

  14. Nice! (This is a โ€œniceโ€ comment and I demand that it be put in your Day One Journal)

  15. I have a question, do you ever get confused where you saved a particular note? I'm asking because you use SO many different note taking and writing apps?

  16. Favourite macbook pro apps. I've just downloaded bear for uni and I really like it

  17. so… I'm unclear about who's sponsoring you… I mean, you've only told me every 5 minutes during the entire video. Honestly, I can't subscribe for that reason alone. Otherwise, a great vid.

  18. Why does it seem like you use dozens of apps for just one pupose?

  19. Iโ€™m kind of getting bored because I feel like youโ€™re repeating the same videos over and over, this is not meant as an insult just an observation

  20. I finally bought an iPad Pro w/ all the bells and whistles… 100% influenced by your videos. Itโ€™s so great to be able to try out all of the suggestions.

  21. Do you mind sharing your 'Study with me' playlist on Apple Music ?

  22. just a sponsor video and give me money

  23. How much do u pay for members if all apps?

  24. My house has 4 toilets , so I keep an ipad in each, to read my Instapaper-stored articles and YTstudio; in fact, although I save time in not having to go far to a toilet, I do find that I am spending more and more time in toilets using all these apps . (:- )

  25. Great work…love your stuff! What do you use to create the lovely angled iPad screen view on top of you narrating in this video…would be awesome to use for teaching! ๐Ÿ‘

  26. Hey Ali, nice video first of all! I want to ask you, just because of curiosity, how you created these videos where you drew or scetched something on the ipad and used it in a video for example. Youโ€˜ve done this in many of your learning related videos.
    Thanks a lot!๐Ÿ˜Š

  27. The video should've been called Note taking apps. Google Drive + Google Docs are more than enough for me

  28. Ohhhh I really love his accent that i think could develop a gorgeous accent by watching his vdos

  29. You really must like paying for all these needless apps. Brother all you need is Notability and/or GoodNotes 5 and you are all set. You have spent so much money on all these apps when Notability and GoodNotes can do everything they do.

  30. I donโ€™t even have an iPad ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ. Just subscribed to your Spotify playlist though ! ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. I will post my questions / comments (or this could be your ideas for new YouTube or podcast or your on-line classes). In case, my background is: post MA degree in the US, teaching in Korea, 40s who used to be non-tech genius ^^. So, my suggestions might not apply for everyone, yet just ideas that learners can suggest ^^. BTW, I wanted to take your on line class & forgot which YouTube you talked about it ใ…œใ…œ. OK, potential classes / YouTubeโ€™s that I would like to learn from you are: 1. YouTube as a consumer (how to organize etc) vs producer (how to produce. How to edit ( i know you have a class on it) etc; 2. Podcast: consumer organization & producer (interaction with other users etc); any podcast lists for education purpose etc; 3. Blogs: how to organize as a reader: how to be better writer on blog etc. how to link blog to publication etc. Although the contents might be repeated, I believe that each video can be helpful for the learner like me. Again, thank you for putting yourself out there ^^.

  32. What would you use in academic fields? (Not the easy reading for fun for me ^^). For example, there used to have โ€œendnoteโ€ etc to organize academic papers. If you want to do serious reading and writing for academic thesis, then, what would you use? (In the process of literature review, brainstorm, serious writing etc, you want to organize readings & writing professionally so that you can save your energy ^^) PDF reader & Evernote? Or anything else?

  33. please let us know how you edited the screen of your iPad ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

  34. Anyone know of a simple app that allows to crop margins of PDF. PDF expert is too expensive just to get that one task completed. Thanks.
